![]() ![]() Also, while this game does have loads of bugs, they don't seem to get in the way of actual game-play all that much. Depending on what kind of a person you are, though, you might not want to do it again. But, no! Atari needed it released right away! Oh, and if you think the missions are too tough, quit being a baby! Toughen up yourself! It is so satisfying when you finally beat a mission. They could have used at least another few months polishing it. In a sense that, they added in everything that needed to be added, and it's fun. Also, this game pretty much feels finished, to me. They act more like weak terminators than humans, but they still get the job done. It works! They do their job of trying to kill you fairly well, and can at least evade your shots a little bit. The feeling of the car is amazing, and sliding into turns is just so much fun! The police chases are also really exciting. I love fps shooters! You get used to the roughness of it after awhile. I love running from side to side to shoot the enemy, and it works great for that. The on-foot, while certainly not feeling as smooth as it could, still works. But, here are the reasons why I bare with it anyway. Poor on-foot controls, lack of polish, bad enemy AI, missions that are "too" difficult, and the game not feeling like it's finished. I am aware of why people criticize this game. Missing animation.I love this game! And I still play it from time to time, after almost 10 years! Crazy, right? Maybe. **** TROUBLE - NO PERSONALITY SET FOR THIS CHARACTER!!!ĪNIMS\MACROLIST.TXT ANIMS\ANIMATION_MIAMI.AB3 ANIMS\ANIMATION_ISTANBUL.AB3 ANIMS\ANIMATION_NICE.AB3Īrrgh. **** CBehaviourManager::AssociatePersonality Hidden in the PS2 version's executable file are several comments mostly pertaining to errors the programmers had, mainly due to the rushed production the game had. There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. ![]() The animation no longer exists in the game's files. The PC version has an cut mission "The Hit" restored in it. Originally there was a dedicated Bike Hijack animation, instead of Tanner getting on the bike with the driver just getting off in the final game, Tanner would have shoved the Driver off the bike then got on it.Ĭarlita had a different appearance with a red jacket and a different face and hair. If you played as "Bad Hand" you would have to protect a specific truck as it drove away, whenever this would have just consisted of ramming or if "Bad Hand" was intended to have a gunner in the passenger seat is unknown.Īccording to a old developer's portfolio website, living cats were cut from the game, a stuffed cat can still be found in the hidden Armory in Miami, there are also numerous stuffed animals in other locations, how many of these were also intended to appear as NPCs in Driv3r is unknown. (Whenever this entailed the player getting out and shooting the cops or simply creating an opening via ramming the roadblocks is unknown.) A cut Nice mission, this would have also had a choice of character, as the player could play either as "Bad Hand" or Tanner.Īs Tanner, the player would have had to help trucks filled with stolen cars escape the cops via clearing Police Roadblocks, the player would then have to get in a car from one of the crashed trucks and drive it to safety under police pursuit to the Airport Safehouse. ![]()
